Kimberly, the founder of Moms Break, is a Mom and understands that you have no time to sign up for free stuff and then end up getting a billion emails because you signed up for something free. Hence, the "Break" in Moms Break---we give you a break by allowing you to simply click and print on all our of websites.

Simply put: All you have to do is print the selected coversheets for the kids activity book using one of our free Christmas Stationery & Cards  printables or even a coloring page...both work great for a cover page to the book. Then pick the filler activity sheets of your choice, print them, and use a hole-punch and some ribbon to put the books together. This will all be explained in more detail in the "How To Make The Kids Activity Book" below.  ** Hint for Moms - You can make several books using different coversheets and different free filler pages for each book. They make great stocking stuffers!

How To Make The Kids Activity Book:

1) Visit the Christmas Stationery & Cards section or the Winter Snowman collection, pick one to use as a cover page, and click the free printable button. Type in the child's name and date, and/or preferred text, and print. (Most printables can be personalized however it is not available on all printables.)

2) Pick your filler pages from: All Kid Activities, All Kids Coloring Pages, Educational, Kids Activities, Preschool & Young Children, Printables for Kids Blog  as well as Free Patriotic Project and Holiday Printable.

3) Once you have all your filler pages printed, use a hole-punch or three-hole page punch to make holes on the left-hand side, with the pages facing you. Just like you would do if you where putting pages in a three-ring notebook.

4) Align all the pages. Place the front coversheet on the top of the stack, with the page facing you. If you are using a back cover page, place it on the bottom of the stack, with the image facing out, so the punched holes line up. Then use Christmas ribbon (alternatives household items: yarn, string, twist ties, or use an old three ring notebook) to bind (put together) the book.

Extra Ideas & money saving tips:

  • Got old coloring and activity books around the house half used? Cut out the unused pages and add them to the activity book(s) you are making. If the pages are small, glue to a piece of printer paper or construction paper.
  • Go to the dollar store, get some crayons, paint, glue, glitter, and stickers to go with the activity book(s) you have made for a nice personalized kids activity gift.
  • Add some blank pages to the kids activity book for kids to make they own activities or as drawing pages.
  • Use our cover then only blank filler pages and call it a scratch pad, drawing pad or even a diary.
  • As a gift wrapping idea, make the activity book, then roll up and put inside an empty paper towel tube! Take crayons, colored pencils, or washable markers out of the box, and put them inside the tube with the rolled-up activity book. This makes it easy to wrap and stuff into a stocking!
  • If you are a scrapbooking person, then you probably have a lot of leftover supplies. Use only blank filler pages and give the kid your leftover unused scrapbook supplies for them to make their own scrapbook.  You can type on the cover page "My First Scrapbook" instead of the child's name or for example: "Maggie's First Scrapbook, Love Aunt Becky." Don't worry, you won't be the first person to re-gift something. This can also be done using old crafting supplies you no longer use. Tell the child you are passing on your favorite crafts or scrapbook supplies to them and that's why you, for example, left half a tube of glitter glue---because you wanted to share your favorite colored glue with them. * Remember the goal here is to save money on Christmas gifts and we are doing that by providing printables that you can personalize to give it a homemade touch.
  • Tell the child that you made the book yourself because you want them to fill out all the pages and return it to you as a keepsake or memento of their talent.
  • If you have more than one child, have the kids make an activity book for each other instead of shopping for gifts. Imagine Christmas morning when they finally get to see what their siblings put in their activity book.

Note from Kimberly - Remember, homemade is how we used to do things to make them special. Moms Break wants to make that trend  popular again!
